The Best Of The Morgans

THE MORGANS were founded as a duo in 1971. Every Sunday night for 15 years, they played to S.R.O. crowds at pubs in Hartford, CT. Expanding over the years to include as many as six players, their performing venues have grown with their numbers. From: pubs, clubs, and cabarets to: folk clubs, coffeehouses, festivals, community concerts, colleges, environmental seminars, corporate functions, and at schools (K-12), as Arts-In-Education presenters. They have been booked as the opening act for The Irish Rovers once and The Clancy Brothers and Robbie O'Connell six times. They appeared with Pete Seeger on the Hudson River sloop Clearwater, and they have been featured many times, in varying combinations, at Mystic Seaport's annual Sea Music Festival.

This compilation CD, consisting of six excerpts from each of their last three cassette albums: ( MP-004 )"Soundings For The Whale";
( MP-005 ) "Ceili On The High Ground"; and ( MP-006 )"20 Years Before The Mast", is the equivalent of an album-and-a-half for the price of one. THE MORGANS' other albums (available on cassette only) are: ( MP-001 ) "Go To Sea Once More"; ( MP-002 ) "Second Voyage"; and ( MP-003 ) "Three Sheets To The Wind".

"... understandably the most popular group presenting sea music in the New England area."
